The maritime regional office is a division of ANCE-Togo in the region. It is located at ANCE-Togo national head office in Lomé and employed resident members in maritime region. Maritime regional office is composed of many organs mainly: Regional Assembly of members; Regional Council and Regional Executive Secretariat.
The regional Assembly of members elect five (5) members of regional office to sit in maritime regional council. Among these five members of regional bureau, include the president of regional council (PRC), the General Treasurer of regional council (GTRC), the general secretary of regional council (GSRC) and two other members. The regional council acts as ANCE-Togo regional steering committee and is in charge of working according to ANCE-Togo statutes or on the general assembly demand. A regional coordinator recruited by ANCE-Togo board of directors upon proposal of Executive Secretariat assumes the Regional Executive Secretariat.
ANCE-Togo regional office in maritime region implements many programs focused on advocacy with local authorities to improve locals finance management system, for better economic governance and promoting transparency in public affairs management. The Regional office works also with the region civil society organizations (CSOs) to create synergistic actions to better work on the fight against corruption related issues. The capacity building workshops are frequently organized targeting public, private sectors and the CSOs on different thematic related to international instruments and good practices to fight corruption, transparency in public procurement, and the participation of citizen’s control on public action and citizen’s education.

  •  Organization of sensitization activity in FORMATEC University 

ANCE-Togo regional office in maritime region organized awareness activity on March 8, 2019 at University of FORMATEC. This awareness activity took place in a constructive atmosphere with communications on the situational analysis of corruption and the related offences, the role of ALAC in preventing and fighting against corruption and the urgent need to citizen’s membership to ANCE-Togo regional office. This activity is part of large public awareness on citizen’s participation to fight against corruption initiated in universities and secondary high schools/colleges in Lomé is financed by EU and TI through French Ministry of Europe and the Foreign affairs.

  •  Organization of sensitization activity in IAEC UNIVERSITY 

In order to implement the project “Advocacy & Legal Advice Centres (ALAC) ” to help citizens pursue official corruption-related complaints, the maritime region office of ANCE-Togo carried out on March 12, 2019, a awareness activity in Institut Africain d’Administration et d’Etudes Commerciales  (IAEC) University. Many communications on corruption issues, the role of ALAC in preventing and combating corruption and many other typical topics were developed to students. EU and TI through French Ministry of Europe and the foreign affairs finance this initiative.

  •  Organization of sensitization activity in EASAG-NDE  

ANCE-Togo regional office in maritime region organized on May 8, 2019 a public conference targeting the students of the Ecole Supérieure d’Administration et de Gestion Notre Dame de l’Eglise (ESAG-NDE) on the role of ALAC in fighting against corruption. This activity is part of large public awareness on citizen’s participation to fight against corruption issues initiated in universities and secondary high schools/colleges in Lomé launched for some months now. The participants discovered ALAC’s activities in maritime region. The ALAC maritime region is based in ANCE-Togo head office at Agbalépédogan, near Lycée 2 Février.

The operationalization of Kara and Central regions Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres is in progress to be effective in few days. EU and TI through French Ministry of Europe and the foreign affairs finance this initiative.

From November 6 to 8, 2018, the Alliance Nationale des Consommateurs et de l’Environnement (ANCE-Togo), Transparency International National Contact in Togo, organized in Lomé, the capital city of Togo, a national capacity building workshop of stakeholders on international instruments and good practices to fight against corruption in Togo. This workshop is unique a was successful thanks to active collaboration of all stakeholders from public and private sectors, technical and financial partners, international and national experts and importantly the determination and the commitment of the ANCE-Togo team.

The Advocacy & Legal Advice Centre (ALAC) is located in every ANCE-Togo regional Bureau and providing free legal advice and assistance to persons who are victims of or witnesses to acts of corruption.

The Regional office of ANCE-Togo in maritime region develops anti-corruption advocacy strategies to contribute to the consolidation of the rule of law and the eradication of corruption in all its forms in the region. The regional office through the ALAC in the region provide legal advice and assistance to persons who are victims or witnesses corruption acts and contribute to strengthen citizen’s capacity against corruption related issues. The analysis of corruption phenomenon is based on real experiences of citizen’s in maritime region. The maritime regional office is composed of expert lawyers who provide free legal advice to help plaintiff pursue their complaint; ensure that a formal complaint will be received by the law enforcement agencies for further action.
